⦁ About the Departmen
Department of Sociology is an integral part of Arts faculty of the institution. Department of Sociology is single driven faculty because only one post is sanctioned in this department. Keeping the faculty into consideration, college offered the Sociology subject only at undergraduate level. The Programme of Course is BA Sociology under UG (CBCS) of RUSA. Department of Sociology is committed to academic freedom, constructive discourse, and the creation of an inclusive and diverse scholarly community where the dignity and value of all persons are respected. We strive to embody this commitment and display it in our interactions with one another that are equitable and respectful.
Department of Sociology envisages production of graduates who would constitute analytically skilled, ethically sound human resource with social commitment and having a world view with strong sociological imagination. The students of this department gain adequate insights into relatively permanent traits as well as the dynamics of the human society in order to be competent citizens of a global village.
⦁ Vision
The Department of Sociology aspires to provide affordable quality education, while equipping students with knowledge and skills in their chosen stream, inculcates values, identify hidden talents, provides opportunities for students to realize their full potential and thus shapes them into future leaders, entrepreneurs and above all good human beings. We hope to attract more of the best and brightest students and we prepare them for their future careers and lives as responsible citizens. Department of Sociology will strive to maintain a vibrant and inclusive environment where faculty, staff, and students are respected and where their contributions are fairly recognized. We envision our students having a transformative impact on society by leading change in their communities through knowledge of social forces and a humanistic worldview. The department of sociology has its own vision. As in the recent time the pattern of social living is becoming much competitive, therefore the vision of department is to train up the students to meet the challenges of the aim to produce a generation of quality citizens with all morality.

⦁ Mission
The mission of the Department of Sociology is to promote scientific understandings of social life through teaching and social service. By encouraging and supporting scholarly research and activities by our faculty, further we promote the development of sociological knowledge and its application to important social issues. We nurture our students as models for others in the society and endeavor to engage them in important community services as a responsible citizens. To cultivate multiple ways of understanding society in order to create purposeful futures for our students in an ever-evolving employment market by application of sociological knowledge gained through collaborative education, community engagement, and experiential learning; developing transferable skills such as research, professional writing, effective communication, inclusivity and leadership.
Department strives to achieve following Mission :-
1. Department is committed to developed scientific, interpretative and critical capacities for understanding the social and cultural forces that shape the human experience.
2. To foster a life long engagement with questions of social justice.
3. To provide theoretical and methodological knowledge for understanding complex social and cultural realities.
4. To promote scientific temper among students to study the society in a scientific manner.
5. To imbibe basic discipline, to instill aspirations, skills, creativity and sensitivity among students.
6. To offer courses to the students for enhancing professionalism, humanism and social responsibility through quality education.
7. To promote social virtues i.e. selflessness, sacrifice, truthfulness, sympathy, tolerance and co-operation among students.
8. To acknowledge the students regarding information, communication and technology society.

⦁ To cater to the curricular requirements of UG (CBCS) with utmost sincerity and dedication.
⦁ To address the special needs of the students and scholars in the form of remedial classes, guidance and counseling.
⦁ To inculcate and promote research aptitude among the students and to motivate them to evolve as promising academicians.
⦁ To intensify and diversify faculty specializations through research and writings to promote the culture and research in the Department.
⦁ To assist students in learning to think sociologically in order to understand, define, and analyze social phenomena.
⦁ To teach the learners to become critical, socially sentient and professionally competent to adapt to the changing world.
⦁ To develop human resources with a view to serve the society in a meaningful and sustainable way.
