About Department

The course of bachelor of computer application (BCA) & PGDCA is being offered in the institution under self-financing scheme and regulated through the Higher education institute Society regd.Under cooperative society act 2006. The duration of BCA degree course is the three years spread over in six semesters and is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. The duration of PGDCA degree course is the one year spread over in two semesters and is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla.

Objectives

The department of Computer Science (BCA & PGDCA) at the Govt. College Bilaspur H.P. promotes innovation-centric education and performs cutting-edge projects. The basic objective start this course in this institution is to impart quality education in computer information technology to the candidates admitted for the course to build their career in the I.T. & computer paradigm. The department continuously endeavors to create and sustain an academic environment conducive to the highest level of teaching. The goal is to develop human resources with sound knowledge of theoretical, systems, and application aspects of Computer Science. The department also facilitates the development of academia-industry collaborations and societal outreach activities.

The department has technically established computer lab comprising of latest computers with internet facility, a well-stocked library and spacious classroom. Syllabus

The number of seats allotted for admission to BCA 1st Semester for the academic session 2023-24 is as follow:-

The number of seats in PGDCA Course is 40 distributed as follows: –

1	Category	Seats
2	Subsidized	20
3	Non-Subsidized/Payment	20
4	Total	40

There are 10% additional seats reserved for the Economically Weaker Session Category for the admission to BCA for the academic session 2023-24. If these seats remain vacant than these seats neither be filled with other category nor will carry forward.

Eligibility Conditions

Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination from H.P.Board /CBSE/ICSE or any other board, considered equivalent to 10+2,by the Himachal Pradesh University,Shimla-5,with 40% marks(35% marks for SC/ST category),shall be eligible. As per H.P University rule 75% seats will be filled out the candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination form the school situated in Himachal Pradesh irrespective of the board .Remaining 25% seats will be filled on all Indians basis .Other reservation rules are as per H.P. University norms.

Age Limit

Maximum age limit for admission to BCA & PGDCA course is 21 years for general category, 24 years for SC/ST category And 23 years for girls candidates, as on the 1st July of the year concerned .The vice-chancellor may permit age relaxation up to the maximum of three months .The admission to BCA course will be made on the basis of Merit.

Fee Structure For BCA(excluding funds )

For Subsidized seats ₹ 6,000/- Per Semester

For Non-Subsidized Seats ₹12,500/- Per Semester

Fee Structure For PGDCA(excluding funds)

For Subsidized seats ₹ 7,000/- Per Semester

For Non-Subsidized Seats ₹12,500/- Per Semester
