Library is the most attractive and educative place in the campus of an institution which supports reading and literacy among students & the community. Library is a heart of the institution. It forms the habit and tradition of reading among students. GC Bilaspur library is one of the oldest library established in 1952, is well equipped with modern facilities and resources consisting books, journals, magazines and e-Resources. It has rich collection of reference books & text books in the fields of Science, Commerce and Arts.

College is member of the Project National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST), being jointly executed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre. This project provides free access to a collection of more than 194009+ full text e-books and more than 6292+ e-journals on all the subjects to students, researchers and faculty members. Many new academic e-resources are added to this facility nearly every month. Full text e-books can also be downloaded or printed directly from the website under this project. The students desirous of using this facility are directed to contact Assistant Librarian along with their e-mail IDs. Students can also have access to National Digital Library of India, which is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not only just a repository with a search/browse facilities but also provides a host of services containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media for the learners/users community. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Infrastructure

Six computers and printer with Internet access and N-List facility have already been installed in the college library for the benefit of the students.

All the students are directed to follow the following library rules strictly;

All the students on the rolls of the College shall be eligible to become members of the College Library.
Every student is entitled to draw two books for reading at home for a period of twenty days from the library.
The borrower shall be responsible for the safety/preservation of the books drawn by him/her.
A fine of Re. 1/- per day per book will be charged beyond due date of submission of the book from the defaulter students.
Books are also issued for the whole semester/year to the students belonging to SC/ST, low income group (BOOK BANK) on the recommendation of the teacher.
Reference books are not issued. They can be consulted in the library after obtaining permission from the librarian.
In case of loss of a book, the student will have to replace the book or pay fine in addition to the present price of the book with special permission of the Principal.
Books are issued only on the production of Identity Card.
In case a book is found mutilated, torn or defaced the actual cost of the book plus 20% of the original cost will be charged from such defaulter student.
Students can get their library security refunded within one year after leaving the College; failing which the security will stand forfeited.
Reader shall maintain proper order and silence in the library. Making noise, spitting, smoking, writing, marking on walls, use of mobiles or doing anything else which may disturb staff and other readers or against the library rules is strictly prohibited
The college library have CCTV surveillance with reading hall, one reference section or faculty corner one library Computer Lab.with seating capacity of more than 160 students.

Web OPAC

Library's online catalogue the library uses the Library Management Software - 'SOUL 3.0' developed by INFLIBNET, Ahmedabad. All the books in the library have been bar-coded and circulation activities are managed through the software.

All students are issued bar-coded library cards at the beginning of the academic year. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be accessed in the college library through the internet. It can be accessed online through the internet by following the link SOUL Web OPAC.

Users can search the books in the library's collection through Web OPAC. The books can be searched by 'Title', 'Author', etc. Through the tab 'Search Books'. Simple Search and Boolean Search options are available for searching. Students can also check the books that they have borrowed through the 'Member Status' tab available through the Web OPAC.
